5 Wednesdays, February 26 - March 26, 7-8:30 AM
If you’re looking to begin your day by getting grounded in your body, committing to your writing practice, and coming together in community, consider joining us for a weekly drop in yoga and writing session in the sunlit ballroom of Mechanics’ Hall, Wednesday mornings at 7am. Sponsored by Maine Writers and Publishers Alliance, this morning yoga flow followed by a generative writing session connects body and mind—and connects us to one another as we share these practices. Meredith McCarroll, writer and yoga teacher, will guide the class through a 45-minute yoga flow followed by a series of writing prompts with time to write for 45 minutes.
Class will begin with a grounding meditation, and then will move through a warming flow designed to wake up and energize your body. As we transition toward writing, Meredith will offer a short reading followed by prompts accessible to all genres. Imagine a yoga portion of class focusing on tree pose that turns to a reading from Mary Oliver on trees and then leads into a series of writing prompts on a tree that you have loved.
All levels welcome. Bring a yoga mat and your preferred mode for writing.
Walk-in registration is available each class via Venmo and Cash, $20 Members/$25 Nonmembers.
$75 Members/$100 Nonmembers
