Picture Book Apprenticeship

An Online Picture Book Workshop

Turn your envy into inspiration!

If you’ve ever found yourself reading a published picture book thinking, “I wish I could write something like THAT!” then this class is for you. During this workshop we’ll apprentice ourselves to our favorite picture books to figure out what makes them tick, then use what we’ve discovered to fuel our own writing. We’ll examine how mentor picture books can help us at every step of the writing process, from generating ideas to drafting to revising.

This three-hour online workshop will be interactive, with exercises to try on the spot that you can also repeat on your own later on. Please come with a stack of 3-5 favorite picture books (or access to them as e-books).

$70 Members/$100 Nonmembers
